Jorge Plutzky, M.D. is Director, Preventive Cardiology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and an authority on preventive cardiology, including the intersection of obesity, diabetes and atherosclerosis.
In addition to studying mechanisms underlying cardio-metabolic disorders in his laboratory, Dr. Plutzky has served on cardiovascular trial steering committees including SELECT (GLP-1RA semaglutide in obesity, established heart disease but not diabetes).
After University of North Carolina medical school and an NIH research fellowship, Dr. Plutzky did residency and fellowship at BWH/HMS and MIT.
