April Alvarez

April Alvarez is the Head of Experience and Engagement at Google, Inc. With over a decade of experience in the tech sector, she is recognized for driving impact at the intersection of technology, education, and business. Driven by a dedication to education, April has led numerous initiatives at Google, including the launch of Code Next and Tech Exchange to increase computer science enrollment. Her background also includes working in the nonprofit sector and schools, where she supported students in the classroom and provided college and career guidance to first-generation college students. A first-generation college graduate from California’s Central Valley, April earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Education from PACE University. She is a proud mom of two young daughters and a baby boy residing in Berkeley, CA.
