Dawn DiRaimondo
Psychologist, Author, and Bereaved Sister
Dr. Dawn DiRaimondo is a clinical psychologist in Sacramento, California. where she lives with her husband and two children. Dr. Dawn lost her 22 year old brother, Michael in 2004 while he was serving as an Army flight medic in Iraq. This significantly impacted her both personally and professionally. She went on to specialize in grief and loss in her private practice.
After learning from a client in 2019 that few resources were available for sibling loss, she began writing. Surviving Sibling Loss: The Invisible Thread That Connects Us Through Life and Death was published in 2020. Along with sharing her own story, fourteen others that lost sibling(s) were interviewed and their insights were included as well. Surviving Sibling Loss can be found on Amazon, Audible, Kindle and more.
Dr. Dawn wants to be a part of changing the conversation around grief; shifting away from a societal narrative that encourages people to "move on" but rather to one that validates the significance of grief and helps people learn to live with significant loss in a healthy and meaningful way.
