Marie Imber is an accomplished Human Resources leader with over 12 years of progressive experience in the non-profit sector. She is currently the Senior Manager, People, Engagement, and Learning at MakeWay Foundation, where she partners with managers and staff across Canada to strengthen inclusive workplace practices, equity-centered policies, and compliance in multiple jurisdictions. Marie holds a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation, is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and has advanced training in Human Resources Law, health and safety, and volunteer management. She brings deep expertise in employee relations, workforce planning, and policy development, with an approach guided by equity and a strong belief in the role of Human Resources as a partner in social impact.

Katie Miller

Advisor, Strategy & Development - Bridge Building Group

Katie has dedicated the past 13 years to building communities, programs, and inclusive processes for a reparative and regenerative future. Alongside her role in the Changemaker Wellbeing Index, she is a facilitator and advisor with Bridge Building Group. There she leads, Conversations with Canadians, an initiative fostering a national community of bridge builders to strengthen belonging and reconnection, one courageous conversation at a time. Of mixed settler and Anishinabe heritage, Katie has worked across Canada and internationally, bringing a perspective rooted in equity and relational practice. She also serves on the Government of Canada’s Social Innovation Advisory Council and as Treasurer of Water Rangers, a social enterprise empowering communities to protect local waterways.

Fiorella Rojas Jaramillo

National Director, People & Culture - YWCA Canada

Fiorella Rojas‑Jaramillo is the National Director, People & Culture at YWCA Canada. With a career rooted in equity, inclusion, and people‑centered design, she has served as the inaugural head of HR in the tech sector, building foundational human resources practices from the ground up. Prior to joining YWCA Canada, she was the Manager of People & Culture at a global digital agency. Fiorella is passionate about creating workplace cultures where employees feel safe, supported, and set up for success. She focuses on developing policies that are equitable, accessible, and grounded in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles, and she is always exploring new and better ways of doing things. Her work centers on designing systems that attract and retain talent, strengthen engagement, and support the diverse needs of the people they serve. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in peace and conflict studies. Outside of work, Fiorella can be found walking by the lake, racing to make it to yoga, or reading a good book with a cup of tea in hand.

Steven Ayer

CEO - Common Good Strategies

Steven Ayer’s work combines rigorous research with innovative strategies to empower the non-profit sector. An acclaimed author, some of his notable works include "The Burden of Care," (about low job satisfaction among non-profit workers), "Wake-Up Call, (10 shifts in the nonprofit sector in the wake of the pandemic)", "Trust and Impact,” (a recent report on the shift towards trust based philanthropy and unrestricted funding), and the 2024 CanadaHelps Giving Report (about how building community can reverse the decline in donations). Each of these was lauded among the top 10 nonprofit sector reports by PANL Perspectives at Carleton University. Steven is also well known for his work on Vital Signs reports, like the 2023 Power of Us Report for Toronto Foundation, where he has led the writing since 2018 and co-wrote the national Vital Signs report in 2023. Steven has also played a pivotal role in shaping strategy, policy, research, and marketing initiatives for organizations such as YMCA Canada and YMCA Greater Toronto, Prosper Canada, Tim Hortons, Employment and Skills Development Canada, and Imagine Canada, alongside dozens of other clients.
