Dr. Alan Moses is an independent consultant for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. Trained in internal medicine and endocrinology, he spent the early part of his academic career at Harvard doing bench and clinical research and clinical care. Dr. Moses co-founded and directed the Clinical Investigator Training Program at Beth Israel Deaconess-Harvard Medical School-MIT. From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Moses served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the Joslin Diabetes Center with specific responsibility for the Joslin Clinic. He joined Novo Nordisk in 2004. During his 14 years at Novo Nordisk, Dr. Moses served in multiple roles beginning as Associate Vice President of Medical Affairs in the US and rising to the position of Senior Vice President and Global Chief Medical Officer working in Copenhagen. Dr. Moses earned his MD from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, worked for three years at the National Institutes of Health, completed his clinical endocrine/diabetes training at Tufts New England Medical Center, and studied Health Care Strategy at Harvard Business School. He retired from Novo Nordisk in June 2018.

Dr. Peter Senior, PhD

Dr. Peter Senior is the Charles A Allard Chair in Diabetes Research and the Director of the Alberta Diabetes Institute, at the University of Alberta where he is the medical director of the Clinical Islet Transplant Program. He completed his specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where he received his PhD in 2002. His clinical and research interests focus on type 1 diabetes, hypoglycemia, diabetic kidney disease and islet transplantation. He has published more than 200 scientific articles. He received the Gerald Wong Service Award from Diabetes Canada in 2020 for services to “diabetes research, clinical care, the organization and diabetes advocacy”.

Jeanne Jacoby, FNP-BC, CDCES

Jeanne was diagnosed with diabetes just 4 days after college graduation and found a career path that brings meaning to her own journey. As a nurse practitioner and certified diabetes care and education specialist, she has found a passion for bringing technology to people with diabetes to help them to “flip the script” by taking control of their own diabetes and not letting diabetes take control of them. She was in clinical practice for 10 years – starting as one of the founding nurse practitioners for the inpatient glucose management service at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and then moving into outpatient practice in Massachusetts where she became an expert in treating patients with advancing diabetes technologies.

Marlon Pragnell, PhD

Marlon Pragnell PhD is Vice President of Research & Science at the American Diabetes Association where he oversees ADA’s research programs and annual Scientific Sessions meeting. Dr. Pragnell is an international leader in diabetes research and has overseen efforts focused on diabetes complications and glucose control worldwide. Dr. Pragnell has also overseen initiatives aimed at preserving kidney function and vision, and efforts in improving glucose control through more effective drug and device-based therapies. He also served on the Artificial Pancreas Project, which he managed prior to the successful commercialization of the first closed-loop system in 2016. Dr. Pragnell brings extensive biotech experience. As Principal Scientist in Renal and Metabolic Diseases at Genzyme, he focused on the bone-kidney axis and managed company-sponsored research collaborations in the United States and internationally to complement in-house research and development. Dr. Pragnell received his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Iowa and postdoctoral training at Columbia University.
