Her goal as an educator is to help students build confidence in their ability to achieve their career goals and make learning fun! In her free time, you can usually find Megan building a puzzle, playing Wordle, or watching one of her many favorite reality TV shows.

Carolyn Bartlett is a Career Coach with NorQuest’s Career Centre. She has been a career development practitioner for over 10 years with experience in the nonprofit, government, and post-secondary sectors. As a Career Coach, Carolyn approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, honesty, and light humour. As a NorQuester, she is always looking for new ways to build connection, strengthen supports, and find ways forward.

Analia Rubie

Campus Director, MC College Edmonton

Since 2011, Analia has been the Director of MC College, a beauty and fashion school that has roots in Canada since 1925. Every month, she manages over 300 staff and students, and 1500 salon/spa clients. The future is dependent on young people, and it’s important to Analia to inspire them.

Faizal Jiwani

President of AMAN Builders Inc. & President/Founder of Ubuntu Social Responsibility

Faizal Jiwani is considered a social entrepreneur that owns, runs and invests in businesses across multiple industries. He is the President & Director of AMAN Builders Inc. a 40 year old family owned general contractor that specializes in educational facilities, affordable housing, medical facilities, etc. AMAN is dedicated to help eliminate global poverty mainly through education. Faizal is also the founder of Ubuntu. Ubuntu produces well rounded student leaders that understand how to apply their unique values and life experiences to find a job while strengthening inclusive communities. Faizal volunteers and sits on various boards that align with his core purpose, to inspire thriving communities, locally and globally. The University Hospital Foundation Igniters, Telus Edmonton and Northern Alberta Community Board and the NorQuest President Workforce Advisory Council are some examples of these organizations. Most people do not know that Faizal shared a flight with the great Nelson Mandela.

These are skills he employs for students as an Executive in Residence with Edmonton Unlimited. He is also a cofounder of Unbounded Thinking. A startup dedicated to re-defining, measuring and building structure around innovation.

Janill Burton-Perry

Licensed Practical Nurse, Alberta Health Services

Janill is an immigrant to Canada in 2018. Graduated from the Practical Nurse Diploma Program at NorQuest College in 2020. Having started as a new nurse in Covid, she had to endure many hardships but was successful in adapting and learning new skills. Started out in a casual position and then transitioned to a temporary full time position for about 2 years in the medicine program. Currently working permanent full-time in Hematology/Oncology at the U of A hospital. A fast paced environment with acutely ill patients. Not only has she contributed back to NorQuest as a member of the Alumni Committee but also accommodates Practical nursing students every year and sometimes twice a year. Janill's goal is to continue to strive in her passion of helping people and giving back to the community.

Meaghan Rewniak

Entrepreneur Event Specialist, ATB Financial

Meaghan Rewniak, originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, moved to Edmonton in 2019 and has since built a diverse career focused on community, education, and entrepreneurship. With a background in education and childcare, she spent seven years with the YMCA, ultimately becoming the director of a 90-space childcare centre. After transitioning to a new chapter in her life as a single parent, Meaghan pursued further education, earning a Business Administration Diploma with a focus on HR from NorQuest College in 2023. During her studies, Meaghan discovered her passion for entrepreneurship, participating in the 150 Startups Program, NorQuest’s Business Factory Program, and competing in provincial pitch competitions. She represented NorQuest at CICan on the Hill in Ottawa, was nominated for the YEG Startup Awards Student Entrepreneur of the Year, and ran her own business during her time in school. After graduating, Meaghan spent the summer traveling and doing freelance HR consulting with local startups. In January of 2024 she joined Junior Achievement Northern Alberta as the Company Program and Volunteer Coordinator, where she facilitated youth entrepreneurship programs. In 2024, she became an Entrepreneur Event Specialist with ATB Financial, combining her love for entrepreneurship, event planning, and community engagement. Despite a few hard years, Meaghan has completely transformed her life and has truly started to thrive. Outside of work, Meaghan volunteers with her children’s schools and Junior Achievement. She enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling, playing slow pitch, attending live theatre, and curling up with a good book or movie.

In my role, I manage various administrative duties to support our team and residents, ensuring the smooth operation of services. I completed my Business Administration diploma at NorQuest College, and since graduating, I have stayed actively involved with the college through volunteer opportunities. This ongoing connection has allowed me to reconnect with fellow students and instructors, while also forging new relationships within the community.

Manjot Singh Brar

Manjot Singh Brar is a Sustainability Coordinator based in Edmonton, Alberta, with Chandos Construction. Josh Galarido

Behavioural Consultant

Josh is a Behaviour Consultant with over two years of experience in a school and private setting. He currently works at a non-profit preschool, where he collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to help neurodivergent and neurotypical learners develop social and emotional skills, promote positive behaviours, and provide behavioural consultations to families. His expertise includes building the capacity of staff and families, developing behaviour support plans and strategies, and disseminating neurodivergent-affirming practices and compassionate behaviour analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Athabasca University and a Therapy Assistant Diploma from NorQuest College. Over the past seven years, Josh has built a diverse career, starting as an Occupational and Physical Therapy Assistant in long-term care, transitioning into a school district as a Therapeutic Assistant for Behavioural and Occupational Therapy, and advancing to roles such as Behavior Interventionist and, ultimately, Behaviour Consultant. Josh has recently taken a thrilling step toward his future by submitting his application for the Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis programs at Western University and Arizona State University. He eagerly aims to start his studies in the fall of 2025. Once he completes his studies, he hopes to become a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and aspires to enhance the field through compassionate behaviour analysis, teaching, and mentorship. Originally from the Philippines, Josh is a first-generation Filipino-Canadian who moved to Canada 12 years ago. During his leisure time, he enjoys playing board games, socializing with friends, reading self-help books, and listening to podcasts. Josh grew up with four siblings and is the middle child. He is also a coffee enthusiast!

Ngina wa Kaai (she/they) is the Outreach and Engagement Librarian at NorQuest College. Her primary focus is to connect and collaborate with non-faculty and learner-facing communities and groups at NorQuest and support them with their projects and initiatives. She also provides research and citation support for learners through library instruction classes and workshops.

Catherine Kim

Community Programs Specialist / Immigrant Women’s Integration Network (I-WIN) at the Newcomer Centre

Catherine has a rich background in the non-profit sector, with extensive experience in community projects and marketing at NPR. She now works in the settlement field. Catherine previously worked at NorQuest College within the Faculty of Skills and Foundational Learning as a Program Support Student Inclusion Assistant and Digital Literacy Assistant. After her time at NorQuest, she facilitated the Newcomer Essential Skills Training Program in the Employment Program at the Newcomer Centre, where she supported newcomers in acquiring essential skills for success in Canada. Currently, Catherine serves as the Community Programs Specialist at the Immigrant Women’s Integration Network at the Newcomer Centre. Additionally, she is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Settlement Studies at NorQuest College.

Melaida Corpuz

Melaida is the founder and Chief Listening Officer of iListen. With a passion for empathy and understanding, she crafted a business offering distinct services centred around listening. As a member of the International Listening Association, she continuously strives to enhance the quality of iListen’s services. Initiatives like the Happily Ever Understood Podcast, the International Day of Listening, and Listening Circles, highlight Melaida's efforts to foster a culture of attentive engagement. Her roles as a member in the Brain Injury and Stroke Toastmasters, as employer partner in the Autism CanTech! Program and as a volunteer at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans reflects her dedication to supporting the community. Melaida laid the groundwork for the inaugural Beyond Barriers Networking and Tradeshow in 2023, an inclusive event aimed to empower individuals with disabilities and provide a platform to network, grow awareness, and access valuable resources.

Shubhneet Puri, also known as Coco, is a hospitality professional with over a decade of experience across Marriott, Hilton, and IHG. In addition, he is a Board Director and Social Committee Member at the Leduc Public Library. Recently admitted to McMaster University’s full-time MBA program, Coco will be moving to Hamilton in September, with aspirations of earning a PhD in Strategic Marketing and teaching at a Tier 1 university. Christine Manipon

Senior Data Analyst, Government of Alberta

Arriving in Canada from the Philippines in 2016, Christine navigated the challenges of building a career in a new country with a different culture. She accessed newcomer support services and mentorship programs, which ultimately helped her secure a role with the Government of Alberta. Today, she is a Senior Data Analyst with the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade, specializing in analytics, evaluation, and surveying. Christine is deeply committed to giving back to her community. For nearly five years, she has mentored newcomers through the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) and served as Secretary and Director with the Economics Society of Northern Alberta (2019–2024). She also used to volunteer as a facilitator for IELTS speaking practice, as a translator, and in various events and book sales. Her dedication to service was recognized in 2022 when she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for her outstanding contributions to Alberta and her efforts in volunteering with and supporting organizations that helped her establish herself in Canada. Christine holds a background in Economics and a Master of Management degree, specializing in Strategic Planning in the government sector, from the University of the Philippines. She spent a decade working in the Philippine government in monitoring and evaluation and strategic planning before transitioning as an Associate Professor in one of the universities in the Philippines. In this role, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, conducted economic research, and led community outreach initiatives. Her journey reflects resilience, the power of mentorship, and the impact of giving back—values she continues to uphold as she supports others in launching their careers in Canada.
