Jacquean (Jah Kay Ahn) Kosh, is a licensed psychotherapist from Maryland, who specializes in the areas of faith based counseling, couples therapy, managing chronic illness, and grief. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the George Washington University and Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lancaster Bible College. Jacquean lives with insulin dependent type 2 diabetes and she and her husband have 2 children.

This panel will be moderated by Julie Keller Heverly. As diaTribe’s Vice President of the Time in Range Coalition and Patient Advocacy, she brings together 30 global organizations to improve diabetes care. Living with type 1 diabetes for more than 25 years, she has spent over two decades advocating for people with diabetes and amplifying patient voices. Julie works with regulators, clinicians, and communities to advance tools and knowledge that help people thrive—including during pregnancy.

Dr. Celeste Durnwald is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania and serves as Director of the Maternal–Fetal Medicine Fellowship. She also directs the Perinatal Diabetes Program at Penn Medicine, where she specializes in the care of pregnant individuals with pregestational and gestational diabetes. A prolific researcher and educator, Dr. Durnwald serves as site principal investigator for multiple NIH-funded multicenter trials evaluating treatment strategies for individuals with type 2 and gestational diabetes. She is also the site PI for a national multicenter collaboration studying the use of diabetes technology in individuals with type 1 diabetes in the United States. In addition, she leads a large prospective cohort study evaluating the use of continuous glucose monitoring to detect early hyperglycemia in pregnancy and to assess the impact of early intervention. Dr. Durnwald has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed to multiple clinical guidelines and textbooks. She is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for leading journals in obstetrics, maternal–fetal medicine, and diabetes care.

Dr. Sarit Polsky is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and Director of the Pregnancy and Women’s Health Clinic at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. A leading researcher on diabetes technology in pregnancy, she studies how tools like continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps can improve outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes. Dr. Polsky also helps shape national diabetes care guidelines through her work with the American Diabetes Association.

Katie Larson is a CDCES based in Colorado who has lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 25 years. She’s also a mom of two young children, bringing real-life experience to navigating pregnancy and early parenthood with diabetes. Katie has worked in diabetes technology, education, and patient support, including with the Barbara Davis Center and the American Diabetes Association. She’s also an adjunct professor and an active volunteer in mountain search and rescue.
