Sarah is Chief Revenue Officer for ALSP ‘The Legal Director’; a ‘people first’ senior business leader, experienced GC and barrister with 20 years’ experience gained between the independent bar, in-house and law firm practice across a wide range of sectors. She started her career at the Bar, moving in-house when her twin babies arrived, sixteen years ago. She has been a GC in the financial services sector and held Executive and Board level roles, beyond the legal team. Sarah role-models authentic leadership, describing the critical factor in any successful working relationship as being mutual trust. She is an energetic and creative problem-solver and was featured on the inaugural 'O-List' in 2024 by The O-Shaped Lawyer. As a single Mum in a neurodivergent household, Sarah ‘brings her whole self’ to work and drives this culture for her teams. She is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, believing continuous learning to be central to success and fulfilment.

Serving as a strategic partner, Emma works closely with in-house counsel to identify and implement improvements within their legal functions, including data analysis, personnel development, process optimization, and suitable technology integration. She excels in dissecting inefficient processes and redesigning them for tangible improvements. Before transitioning to legal operations, Emma served as a Commercial Partner for a decade. With over 20 years of experience in commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection, and IT contracts, Emma has successfully led teams through various transformation projects, leveraging her extensive expertise.

Shaun is a seasoned legal professional with a background spanning private practice, and in-house in government and private enterprises. He is a guru in Legal Project Management (LPM), with a Masters degree in the subject, and provides LPM training through The College of Law. He is on a mission to empower in-house legal professionals to realise the true value of their work, by being better connected with their work, their business and with business outcomes.

David Lancelot

David has 20+ years’ experience building, leading and optimizing best-in-class international in-house legal functions. David is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Law where he teaches International In-House Legal Leadership. Before joining LawVu, David spent 10 years building and leading the eBay Classifieds Group Legal Team; rising to VP, Global Head of Legal and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. eBay Classifieds Group had over $1bil revenue and operated market leading online classifieds businesses in 11+ jurisdictions globally, head-quartered in Amsterdam. David and his team of 25 professionals successfully facilitated the $9.2bil sale of the eBay Classifieds business in 2021. Before eBay, David was General Counsel of an online payments and encryption start-up in London and General Counsel of QVC UK for 5 years. David is a member of the FL, NY and CA Bar and is an English Solicitor. He also holds an LLM from the University of London in Communications and Technology Law. David is based in Los Gatos, California.

Danny is a commercial lawyer with 8 years of in-house experience at ad tech companies. Danny’s current role is within the legal team at The Trade Desk, a leading independent media buying platform supporting brands and agencies to advertise on the open internet. Prior to joining TTD, Danny had commercial legal roles at both TikTok and Meta having moved in-house from Lewis Silkin. Law is Danny’s second career having previously worked in advertising compliance with roles at the Advertising Standards Authority and QVC. He’d prefer not to insult marketing professionals by claiming his initial marketing roles after university amounted to a career!

Zaid Gardner

Zaid leads the Legal function at Property Finder, the leading property portal in the Middle East and North Africa region. He has overall responsibility for all legal, compliance and corporate governance matters across the Group. Having worked in international law firms and as a senior in-house legal advisor for leading multinational corporations operating in South Africa, the Middle East and Turkey, and Hong Kong, Zaid brings vast experience to his role. His diverse skill set enables him to advise on commercial strategies, M&A, technology licensing and IP rights management, data privacy, and a wide range of route-to-market contracts. Zaid is adept at building and scaling high-performing legal teams, and is a valuable partner to the business as Property Finder accelerates towards its targeted growth and expansion plans.
