Welcome to the inaugural Illuminate live finals!

Fall 2023 marks the launch of our latest initiative supporting innovative ideas led by women and gender-diverse Memorial students. This program incorporates seven skill development sessions, tailored one-on-one coaching, an online application and review, and now culminates in the exciting final live pitches and Q&A. Women and gender-diverse students have the chance to win one of five awards, including up to $5000 to support their business, as well as mentoring from prominent local leaders and additional in-kind prizes!

We welcome all genders from the Memorial community and beyond to come show your support and witness a great afternoon highlighting Memorial's student innovation.

Welcome to the 2023 Illuminate Live Finals!

Thanks for joining us to highlight the top five innovative women and gender-diverse student-led startups at Memorial University and to celebrate diversity in innovation and entrepreneurship! Student will compete to win the top prize of $5,000 + 5 hours of mentoring with Swiftsure CEO, Deanne McCarthy. Four additional titles will be award in the following categories:

Promising idea award [sponsored by Susan Murray Consulting]: $1,000 + 5 hours of mentoring from Dr. Susan Murray
Leadership award [sponsored by NLOWE]: $1,000 + 5 hours of mentoring from NLOWE CEO, Jennifer Bessell
Social impact [sponsored by the Centre for Social Enterprise]: $1,000 + 5 hours of mentoring from social entrepreneur, Constanza Safatle
Community choice [sponsored by Genesis]: $500; selected through a vote by the live audience

Plus in-kind prizes award to our top winners from the Gardiner Centre, ethree Consulting, Susan Murray Consulting, and the shop, SALT.
