Audra Wood
Executive Director, Fresh Water Friends
We provide fresh water for the forgotten: communities so rural or so impoverished that they simply can't get clean water on their own. We build wells to deep aquifers by working with local partners who invest in the community, creating ownership and economic opportunity. We have built wells at schools, life centers, child development and vocational centers, and are committed to providing water to everyone in the community without discrimination.
Since our founding in 2015, our Fresh Water FriendsĀ® have donated over $1 million, allowing us to fund more than 450 deep bedrock wells in India, Pakistan, Uganda, and Malawi, and serve more than 450,000 people. We have also sponsored temporary water projects for vulnerable communities by supplying water distribution trucks, reverse-osmosis water filters, and bottled water.
