Dr. Diana Isaacs, PharmD, CDCES

Diana Isaacs, PharmD, BCPS, BC-ADM, BCACP, CDCES, FADCES, FCCP is an endocrine clinical pharmacy specialist and the Director of Education and Training in Diabetes Technology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Isaacs earned her PharmD from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Philadelphia VA. Dr. Isaacs serves in leadership roles for several pharmacy and diabetes organizations. She served on the ADA Professional Practice Committee for 2020-2023, the committee that updates the ADA Standards of Care. She is a national board member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). Dr. Isaacs was awarded the Ohio Pharmacists Association Under 40 Award in 2019 and was the 2020 ADCES Diabetes Care and Education Specialist of the Year. In 2022, she was inducted into the SIUE Hall of Fame for her far-reaching contributions in patient care.

Natalie Bellini, DNP FNP-BC BC-ADM CDCES Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University Endocrine Nurse Practitioner and Program Director Diabetes Technology, University Hospitals Diabetes and Metabolic Care Center (Cleveland, Ohio, USA) Dr. Bellini is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and Endocrine Nurse Practitioner at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio where she is the Program Director of Diabetes Technology following approximately fifty-five thousand people with diabetes. Dr. Bellini earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Drexel University and Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice from D’Youville University. Dr. Bellini holds board certifications as a family nurse practitioner and in advanced diabetes management. She has published studies on topics including the use of GLP-1 agonists in patients with Type 1 diabetes as well as the use of technology in diabetes management. She has been a speaker nationally and internationally regarding diabetes management and the impact of technology on diabetes care and outcomes.

Dr. Korey Hood, PhD

Korey K. Hood, PhD Korey Hood, PhD is personally and professionally committed to improving the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. As Professor and Staff Psychologist at Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Hood runs a behavioral science laboratory aimed at optimizing health and quality of life outcomes. A recipient of federal and foundation grants and author of over 200 scientific articles, Dr. Hood works to put behavioral science at the forefront of patient-centered diabetes care. Dr. Hood has type 1 diabetes himself and works across advocacy and service settings to promote awareness of diabetes treatments, the psychological impact, and emerging technologies. Dr. Hood is a compassionate behavioral scientist with a keen understanding of the intersection between diabetes and behavioral health.

Dr. Maia McCuiston

Dr. Maia McCuiston Dr. McCuiston, a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Spelman College and her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Michigan and is also an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. McCuiston has held diverse clinical and leadership roles, including work in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In 2021, she founded The McCuiston Group, Pediatrics & Lactation in Washington, DC, where she focuses on lactation support and holistic pediatric care. She is a board member of ElevateMed, an organization working to prioritize physician workforce diversity.Close the gap of financial inequity in medical education and empower the next generation of physician leaders.

Dr. Eden Miller

Dr. Eden Miller, an Osteopathic board-certified Family Practitioner, received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Returning to the Northwest, she completed her residency in Family Practice at East Moreland Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She is board certified in Family Medicine, and is a diplomate of the American College of Obesity Medicine, and the American College of Diabetology. She is co-founder of Diabetes Nation a nonprofit organization, and CEO of Diabetes and Obesity Care LLC where she practices with her husband Dr. Kevin Miller in Bend. Dr. Miller has cultivated a special interest in diabetes, after contracting type-1 diabetes while in medical school. Out of that personal experience, her practice has extended into a subspecialty in diabetes care. An impassioned speaker, Dr. Miller has given over 1250 lectures in the field of Diabetes to health care providers and patients alike, on subjects such as Diabetes Management, CGM Technology, Insulin Pump Therapy, Obesity and Metabolism intervention, Clinical Research, and Healthcare Policy. Her adage for care is that she “only succeeds as a provider if she turns patients into experts on their own disease”. Dr. Miller believes that a “physiologic patient individualized approach to diabetes intervention is crucial to success. She feels if our nation is to triumph over the ravages of diabetes, a collaborative effort; unhindered by fear of personal scrutiny, and barriers for effective treatment need to be removed”. For her, Diabetes and Obesity Care provides the foundational model to impact the people that represent this disease and begin the process of restoring hope back to their lives.

Stacey Simms

Stacey Simms- the host of the award-winning podcast Diabetes Connections and the author of “The World's Worst Diabetes Mom” book series. She hosts Moms’ Night Out – an in-person event for moms of children with diabetes. Stacey's son was diagnosed with type 1 in 2006 and her husband lives with type 2. Diabetes Connections is marking 10 years of production this summer!
