Director of User Experience (former UX Designer and Researcher at 18F), Aquia
Elyse (she, her) is a Brooklyn-based designer and researcher committed to making technology accessible, accountable, and delightful for all users. Elyse is currently the Director of UX at Aquia, supporting digital forms modernization work at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Previously, she worked at 18F, partnering with other federal agencies to solve design and technology challenges.
As the Statewide Access to Justice Manager, Courtney oversees services such as court assistance and language access. She received her B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006 and received her J.D. from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law in 2010. Courtney is a proud season ticket holder for the Nebraska Cornhusker football team, wife, and mom.
Talyn Bain is currently the Forms Analyst for Idaho’s Administrative Office of the Courts, where she develops and updates court forms for use by court staff and the public. To her, forms are fun! Prior to the courts, she served in various state and local government roles, including everyone’s favorite agencies: the Department of Motor Vehicles and Child Support Services. During her career, she has maintained knowledge bases, tested software, written standard operating procedures, created training materials, and developed policies. She is passionate about making government services more accessible.
Amy currently serves as the Senior Manager, Court Access & Operations for the Administrative Office of the Courts for the Idaho Supreme Court, where she oversees services such as Court Operations, Court Assistance, and Language Access. She graduated from Boise State University with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy. She received her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law.
Kaileigh Murphy is the Senior Policy Analyst at the Water Revenue Bureau in the City of Philadelphia. Among other roles, they focus on the design, administration, and implementation of water affordability and assistance and ensuring water security and equity amongst customers. They focus much of their work on the food-energy-water nexus and the triple bottom line.
I’m a policy analyst and design researcher who believes in community-engaged approaches to policy and program design. At the Public Policy Lab, I work on a human-centered design team tackling challenges faced by low-income communities across the country—including making government forms and notices more accessible and reader-friendly.
