As the Co-Founder of Contrails.ai he has over a decade of experience in Trust & Safety, AI policy, and digital forensics, Ami has worked closely with fact-checking networks, social platforms, and law enforcement agenciesworldwide. Under his leadership,S&MM has tackled multiple cases of deepfakes, specially as the epidemic of NCII infests the internet, now expanding globally to help governments and tech companies label, mitigate, and prevent AI-driven harm. From election integrity and financial deepfake fraud to non-consensual AI-generated content, Ami is at the forefront of awareness campaigns & building scalable, compliance-ready AI solutions that align with emerging regulations like the EU AI Act and US deepfake transparency laws.

Emma Hardy

Communications Director, Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) & Co-Director, UK Safer Internet Centre

Emma is the IWF’s Communications Director with responsibility for managing the media, marketing, campaigning and advocacy functions at the IWF. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Emma shares responsibility for setting strategy, reputation management, and routinely communicates the reality of technology facilitated child sexual abuse online. Emma led the creation of an award-winning campaign to build resilience among vulnerable groups to sexual abusers online, and won the support of the UK Government, law enforcement, tech industry and the third sector. The campaign was subsequently adopted in other global territories.

Jessica Rose Smith

Manager at Ofcom

Jess is a Manager in Ofcom's Technology Policy team. Her work focuses on understanding the risks posed by harmful deepfakes - and assessing the effectiveness of interventions that online platforms can deploy in response.

Chanell Daniels

Responsible Technology Innovation Manager

Chanell is a Responsible Technology Innovation Manager at Digital Catapult, where she leads programmes for the application of ethical, transparent and responsible practices with emerging and advanced technologies (including AI, quantum, immersive, distributed systems and future networks). Prior to this, she led the Community Safety Team at Depop which worked on child online safety, extremism and preparations for online safety regulations, and managed high-risk crisis responses and prevention efforts at Meta. Before joining the tech industry, Chanell worked with the UK Government on consumer protection policy; with the UN on peacekeeping, human rights and governance; and with the EU on environment policy. She is a Visiting Policy Fellow at the University of Oxford Internet Institute, a member of the OpenUK AI Advisory Board, and a member of UK and international committees on AI standards.

Giulia Trojano

Senior Associate

Giulia is a Senior Associate at Hausfeld, where she focuses on competition disputes, particularly with a tech angle, as well as environmental claims. She recently finished an interdisciplinary Masters in AI Ethics & Society at the University of Cambridge. She writes for several journals on the interplay between technology, politics and society. Recent publications include a paper for Oxford Intersections on whether users of digital companion apps should have “rights against erasure”. She was recognised in the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics 2025 list and in the Top 50 Fintech, TMT & AI lawyers in 2024.

Pavel Korshunov

Research Associate

Dr. Pavel Korshunov is a research associate at the Idiap Research Institute (Martigny, Switzerland). He currently works on detection of deepfakes and audio-visual manipulations, fake documents detection, synthetic image generation for face recognition, and age detection in images and voice. He received Ph.D. in Computer Science from School of Computing, National University of Singapore in 2011 and was a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Idiap Research Institute. During his past tenures, he worked on problems related to speech anti-spoofing, high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, crowdsourcing, and visual privacy in video surveillance.

Iain Corby

Executive Director

Iain is the executive director of the Age Verification Providers Association, the global trade body representing 30 suppliers of age estimation and age verification technologies. He has served in this role since 2018. He is also Secretary General of euCONSENT ASBL, a non-profit organisation developing an interoperable, tokenized age assurance network called AgeAware. Prior to this worked for a leading UK gambling charity, later research team in the UK parliament and was a management consultant for Deloitte voice stop he was educated at Balliol College, Oxford and has an MBA from UCLA.

George Billinge

George Billinge is co-founder of Illuminate Tech, a research and advisory firm focused on responsible technology and online safety, which has supported the delivery of Project DefAI. He previously worked at Ofcom, where he helped ensure policy development kept pace with emerging technologies. Through his work at Illuminate Tech, he supports technology companies to understand and respond to the risks their products may pose to users and society.

Onur Yürüten

Head of Age Assurance Solutions and Senior ML Engineer

Dr. Onur Yürüten is the head of age assurance solutions in Privately. His interests include privacy-preserving machine learning. He obtained his Ph.D. in EPFL Computer Science, Switzerland in 2017.

Manon Baert

Senior EU Affairs Officer at 5Rights

Manon Baert is the Senior EU Affairs Officer at 5Rights. She previously worked in EU affairs within a non-profit and a consultancy, with a focus on human rights and sustainability. Manon was also a legal trainee at the EU Delegation to the Council of Europe. Having graduated from the College of Europe and Maastricht University, she has a background in European Law and International Affairs and speaks fluent French, English and Spanish.
