Bring Yourself Into Scratch: Create and Code Your Own Sprites

If you are new or newer to Scratch, this is a perfect place to start! Join Maren and Tracy as they introduce the Scratch creative learning philosophy and guide you through expressing your own identity through character design and animation in Scratch. 

During this live 60-minute session, you will: create an original character (a Scratch sprite) and explore the Scratch coding blocks to animate your creation, including sound, movement, and interactive functions to express your unique background, culture, and personality. The session will conclude with a short Q&A and a related Sprite Creation and Coding lesson plan that you can take back to use with your learners.

Experience Level: Scratch Explorer I, brand new or newer to Scratch.
Participation Certificate : 1 hour. A certificate of participation will be emailed upon verification of workshop attendance. Educators should follow their district’s policy and procedure for obtaining CEUs for workshop attendance. 

Note: Participants must be 18 years of age or older in order to register and participate in this workshop.
