UCL Honorary Professor in Building Services Systems CIBSE Journal Technical Editor
Tim Dwyer has been actively involved in the communication and delivery of building services engineering for over 40 years. Having graduated in Environmental (Building Services) Engineering at South Bank Polytechnic and worked in the health service as an engineering designer for 7 years he returned to the Poly as an academic. He spent the following 26 years designing, delivering, and managing under-graduate and post-graduate Building Services, Energy and Sustainable Energy courses. At the same time he specialised in areas of educational development, building industry liaison and strengthening co-operative links with the professional institutions and enabling access to higher education.
He developed and delivered one of the first online MScs in Building Services Engineering. His technical areas of course development range from the specification of the internal environment through the development of building form to the evaluation and development of holistic active and passive building systems to improve lifecycle performance. Active in CIBSE, IMechE, ASHRAE, and REHVA he is CIBSE Journal Technical Editor and sits on the editorial panels of international journals, as well as working as a technical consultant and lecturer to CIBSE, other institutions and industry groups. He is a honorary Professor in Building Services Systems at UCL in London.
