He holds more than 50 patents/applications and research papers in lithium-ion and next-generation energy storage systems. He serves as a principal investigator in multiple government contracts including USABC and ARPA-e programs, as well as a subject matter expert for internal and external joint technical development programs.

Principal Quantum Engineering Manager at Microsoft, PNNL & Microsoft

Dr. Chi Chen is a principal quantum engineering manager at Microsoft Azure Quantum, where he leads the materials innovation team for building AI-powered materials science and scientific data solutions for customers. Before this role, Dr. Chen held a research position at UC San Diego where he developed various deep learning models, such as MEGNet and M3GNet, for accelerating materials discovery.

Ranjith Mahalikudi

Ranjith brings more than 5 years of experience in the battery energy storage sector in the US renewables market. Ranjith has worked on over 2 GWh of battery energy storage projects providing critical subject matter expertise through the various stages of utility-scale BESS deployment such as battery vendor evaluation, system engineering and design, contract negotiations, construction, commissioning and operations. He currently works at BrightNight as a Director of Energy Storage.
