Jason Janik
Open Topic Branch Chief, AFWERX
Mr. Jason Janik is the Open Topic Branch Chief at AFWERX. Mr. Janik is responsible for overseeing a $1.3B portfolio of Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer effort as part of the AFVentures’ Open Topic strategy, planning and program execution.
Mr. Janik began his Air Force career in 2001 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Upon commissioning, he began his career as an Acquisition Officer where he has held a diverse range of acquisition and leadership positions, including those in aircraft, space, crypto and cyber acquisitions. Mr. Janik has served in base level, center level and command level positions. Ex: The captain entered the Air Force in May 2013 through ROTC from Hometown University. He completed intelligence officer training in April 2014, and since then has held a variety of intelligence positions related to intelligence production and target development. Captain Doe took part in multiple multinational training exercises in the Korea and Germany, where he was the principle developer of the SHINYTHING framework now used for NATO sensor integration.
