In this session she's going to talk to you about REM Behavior disorder, which is one of the "other" sleep disorders and how you can recognize it when you see it.

Having an undergraduate degree in psychology, Fraser feels privileged to get to continue his education, honing his skills in a sleep lab nestled within a world renowned clinical and research mental health facility. A devoted husband and father of three, Fraser does what most Canadians do; he’s also a part-time hockey coach, an outdoor enthusiast and a connoisseur of ‘groaner dad jokes’.

Kunal Agarwal, MD

Dr. Kunal Agarwal, MD, FAAFP, FAASM, DipABOM, is board certified in family medicine, sleep medicine, and obesity medicine. He practices at TidalHealth in Lewes, Delaware, where he also serves as Medical Director of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Agarwal has extensive clinical experience managing complex sleep-disordered breathing, including the use of phrenic nerve stimulation.

Christopher Gouveia, MD

Chris Gouveia is a board-certified otolaryngologist (Ear, nose throat surgeon) who specializes in obstructive sleep apnea care. After completing his ENT residency at Northwestern, he did a year of sleep surgery fellowship at Stanford University, and since then has practiced at Kaiser Permanente - Santa Clara, CA. He believes strongly in nuanced discussions with patients about OSA: reviewing diagnostic metrics, patient goals, and multidisciplinary treatment options.

Richard Berry, MD

Dr Berry is a professor emeritus at the University of Florida and served as president of the AASM Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors. He participated in several AASM treatment guideline task forces and was editor of the AASM Scoring Manual Committee for many years. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters, including the Sleep Medicine Pearls, a popular introduction to sleep medicine.

James Cardell, RPSGT

James Cardell is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist with over 20+ years of experience in sleep medicine, including 15 years as the principal pediatric sleep scorer for Stanford Children’s Health Hospital Sleep Clinic. He currently serves as a scoring Sleep Technologist at Sutter Health and Technical Director for Stanford University’s ASTEP program. James earned his Master of Fine Arts from the Art Center College of Design, where his thesis compared visual perceptions of fear among teenagers in China, Switzerland, and the United States. He has also been an art director for Traditional Medicinal Teas and New Mexico State University. Originally from a wheat farm in England. An avid beekeeper for more than 35 years. A dual-trained Sleep Medicine and Interventional Psychiatrist, he has pioneered research into cutting-edge treatments like VR-based neurofeedback for chronic pain and insomnia. Dr. Orakpo’s extensive clinical training spans from medical school at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, in Mexico, to Sinai Chicago, to a residency in New York affiliated with NYMC/Touro, to a prestigious sleep fellowship at Stanford, where he now serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Sleep Medicine.
